Hello everyone! My name is Alex Garza. I am 21 years old and I am currently employed at Lexus Carlsbad. My job there is being the Manager of multiple departments such as Valet, Car Wash, Janitorial, etc. This is my first semester at Mira Costa College and I am very excited to see what this semester and the coming semesters have in store for me. Hopefully people can learn more about who I am from these weekly blog posts so stay tuned! Now, let's take a look at something I find very important in grabbing people's attention which is the theme and my reasoning behind it.
Firstly, I'ver always been a fan of darker tones whether it be with themes or just various objects. I remember when Instagram came out with the option to make the app appearance "dark themed" I was ecstatic. Same goes for when Snapchat added that option as well. I personally feel as if a darker theme makes me feel more comforted, welcomed, and just overall pleasing to look at. I always see black Teslas on the road with a matte black wrap, black rims, and a black logo and I always find myself thinking, "Wow, that looks really nice.". Overall anything darker themed is aesthetically pleasing to my eyes.
Secondly, The Lamp on the side table really caught my eye. Why? Well, my Father is an architect and I've grown up watching him draw out plans, measuring houses with him, and seen the different programs he uses to create or remodel homes. Before I ever wanted to pursue a business degree I always wanted to get my degree in Architecture or Structural Engineering. I eventually found my passion with fitness, nutrition, and fitness apparel. Seeing that lamp reminds me of how I've grown up and how far I've come to get to where I'm at today.
In conclusion, I'm still a very young adult with a whole lot of life ahead of me. My reasonings behind the theme I chose have personal, sentimental, and pleasant value. Looking at the theme I chose will always bring me happy thoughts and comfort. I'm overall very glad I decided to pick the theme that I did.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the comfort aspect of a dark aesthetic. There's just something soothing about the cool tones that makes me want to stick around. I too have the dark theme on Instagram and on Canvas. Also, matte black Teslas are *chef's kiss* beautiful. It was neat that you drew a connection to your father through the lamp in the photo header and the progress you've made throughout your life. You seem to be a well rounded young adult, and I look forward to learning more about you through these posts!

Hi Alex, I'm glad you found a theme that stood out to you. It's interesting that different tones are available on social media accounts, and even our smart phones. Color (or lack thereof) definitely helps shape a persons mood. Good luck with your future posts.
