Week 3 Part B: Developing a Brand

I currently don't have a business that I will be working on for the semester but I do hope to have one shortly. I plan on owning a gym in the future. Due to the previous assignment, I gained a lot of insight about how other businesses structure their websites. I observed many positive and negative traits through the research.

In terms of creating a website for my business, it needs to give off a quality first impression. The way I could see it being formatted is a clean background, something similar to Apple. That dark aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye and I find it that others think it's very soothing. I also would want my logo to be a dark theme but something that is simple. I like when logos are very easy to understand and read so you know exactly what the brand is. An example would be a check mark for Nike. I feel that mostly everyone around the world knows the check mark brand being Nike, as well as the three stripes for Adidas.

Secondly, I see my future gym being a two story facility in a highly populated town such as Houston or San Diego. I see potential in Houston, Texas because I find it a very well established town and I plan on living there in the future. If I don't end up moving there, I do think that San Diego specifically needs my gym. I can never find a good gym with all the right equipment that is necessary to most people's needs. I plan on attracting new members by having a polished and friendly environment. I do know a lot of people are scared to attend gyms so I would make a point to refrain from any kind of judgement.

From a social media perspective, I would mainly advertise through Instagram, Youtube, and TikTok. I see those three social medias as a strong channel to promote my business to the right audience. I personally have my social media geared to fitness influencers and new gyms that are popping up all over the United States which gives me plenty of ideas to facilitate that in my hometown in my own business. I picture running my social media platforms by promoting members for multiple different achievements that they accomplish. Some of those achievements would be weight loss or new personal records, etc.

In conclusion, given that I do not currently have a business right now, I do plan on using these tools to ensure my gym in the near future. I definitely want to have that dark aesthetic for my logo and have a respectable environment for many people to enjoy getting a good work out at. It's important for me to establish this as my career moving forward with lots of good branding, public relation outlets, as well as social media platforms demonstrating my clients success. I think with these good tools, I will become successful in branding my future gym.
